Rick Stewart, Independent candidate for US Senate, will be in Jefferson Friday, from 2 to 3 pm at the courthouse. His visit is a stop on his “Let’s Talk, Iowa” tour, his second campaign trip around the state. (The first time was on his bicycle). His goal is simple: meet with Iowans the old fashioned way – face to face.Stewart is taking his mobile ‘living room’ to every county in Iowa to sit down and eat homemade cookies with voters and discuss real issues. His colorful campaign trailer was designed by an award winning Iowan cartoonist Kira Layli.
According to Stewart’s campaign, there are 130,000 more registered Independent voters in Iowa than Republicans or Democrats.
